After a successful and an amusing campaign the previous year, Barca Nepal returns to the Naikap Gold Cup as the defending champions tomorrow. However, the stakes are higher and so are the expectations; the pressure is on the whole squad to deliver yet again in front of their ever-passionate supporters.

As debutants, Barca Nepal played with a relatively low level of expectations than most participating teams in the tournament. However, with sheer quality and well-rounded gameplay, Barca Nepal was able to make its mark as it went on to the semis without conceding a single goal. The final saw Barca Nepal netting past 4 against We Are Brothers FC, a fairytale journey that ended the way it should’ve ended for Barca Nepal and its supporters who came out in healthy proportions for their beloved squad.

This time around, with a mix of experience squad players – who contested in the victorious campaign – and some new faces, Barca Nepal aims to maintain the level of quality that it accounted for in the debut campaign. The team aims to take every match one at a time and climb gradually to the feat, as we, the supporters, might get to do the 3…2…1.. CHAMPIONS! thing once again!
